Student Job Placement
Current Students
Students majoring in the Hotel and Restaurant Management must complete two – six hundred hour paid work experience. Students with a minor in Hotel and Restaurant Management must complete one co-op work experience. A minimum of 600 hours with one employer is required with each co-op experience. Students may find the position on their own or use the services of Eastern Michigan University Career Center. The Career Center is located in 311 King Hall (734-487-0400). A job placement board is also located outside of 206 Roosevelt Hall where the Hotel and Restaurant Management Program is located. Employers agree to mentor the student and provide 600 hours of paid work experience. Students are placed in positions that build on their prior work experience and where they can gain new skills or enhance current skills. Direct supervisors are required to complete a student co-op evaluation. Students must also complete an evaluation of their work experience.
Graduating Students
Students graduating in Hotel and Restaurant Management are seeking positions that utilize their prior work experience and academic degree.
