About the Program
The National Workforce Center for Emerging Technologies
formulated eight career pathways in Information Technology
based on its research. These career pathways serve as a
framework for identifying the knowledge bases through research
initiatives, such as those of the Information Technology
Association of America.
The Network & Information Technology Administration
program prepares students directly for two of the eight
career paths-- Network Administration and Technical Support--
and indirectly for several others. Confidentiality, integrity
and availability of information and networks are emphasized.
Students are encourged to gain experience in information
technology as well as to seek industry and professional
certification as part of their overall credentials.
