ABSWS: About Us

The Association of Black Social Work Students--ABSWS--is a local chapter of the National Association of Black Social Workers. We are a student run, faculty advised group who all have the same goal: becoming Social Workers.

In our roles as Social Workers, each of us has chosen to dedicate ourselves to improving social conditions for African Americans in the communities where we work and live. Joining the ABSWS at EMU can be your first step toward achieving that goal. Through the ABSWS, you will get firsthand experience in working within the community, while benefiting from the guidance of our faculty and staff.
