What is Alpha Phi Omega?

Founded in 1925, Alpha Phi Omega is a national coed service fraternity.  In fact, we are the largest collegiate service organization in the United States. We also happen to be the coolest.

The Principles of APO

APO is founded on three principles: Leadership, Friendship, and Service.

Leadership

By taking an active part in the chapter and volunteering time to help our community, APO embodies the qualities of leadership. Rather than simply complaining about what needs to be done or ignoring the needs of those around us, we lead by example in doing all we can to help our community and each other, and have an amazing time doing it! Friendship

Many people join APO because it is a great place to meet wonderful people. We form many bonds while working on projects together, but we also set up fellowship projects in order to simply get together and have fun. These fellowships include dinners, banquets, bowling, parties, movies, and more. We are a very close group, and have a lot of fun.

Service

APO is involved in many service projects throughout the year, and there is something for every type of person to be involved in. To see what we have done so far this year, go here.

There are four types of serviced that APO concerns itself with:

Service to the campus (Example: volunteering at EMU sporting events)
Service to the fraternity ( Example: chapter fundraisers)
Service to the community (Example: blood drives)
Service to the nation (Example: working with the American Cancer Society)
