universals

universals

exist – and so beliefs – independently
of the particulars that instantiate them.
there are three tables in this space.
a cluster of quiet nuns occupies two of them.
the third is set for dinner.
for sheer love of the lamb, a wolf sits
in front of a generous portion
of stew.

a table might or might not
refer to the general concept of what
to eat implies.
table is a desperate word
for a daily bodily function.

do I believe or do I not believe
that geometry expresses
the pure form of the
intuitive faculty for testing
things visually?

nuns are transcendental. they are
a cluster of clouds.

yet, they too every so often relate
to the grounds and motives the world experiences.

they waste their loins,
all life long they wear white clothes.

universals are the space’s complexities.
the wolf is noticing the nuns’ insubstantiality.
what if their size doubles?

extra tables will be needed.
