Membership in the Stoic Society

Eligibility: All Eastern Michigan University students, undergraduate and graduate, who maintain a 3.5 grade point average and are of sophmore standing and above are eligible for membership. The board members are not required to invite every member of EMU who fullfills these requirements.

If a member's grade point average falls below 3.5, they are not disqualified from rejoining as a returning member the following year but are not eligible for applying for an officer position.

 

Duties: Membership duties include attending monthly meetings and completing one event each semester from the following three catagories;
  • Service
  • Social
  • Fundraising

 

Dues and Fees: New membership dues $50. Returning membership dues are $25. Fees for attending the banquet and other events may be charged and all fees, including membership dues, are at the discretion of the board and subject to change upon a majority vote.

Please note that membership dues are non refundable. Members who are not current on membership dues furthermore will be considered inactive and are not elligible for scholarships or officer positions within The Stoic Society.
