The Women's and Gender Studies Student Association is a student led group closely tied to the Women's and Gender Studies Program here at Eastern Michigan University. 

The Women's and Gender Studies students who initiated the organization in September 2004 were driven to establish a stronger feminist community on EMU's campus.  

We wanted a space on-campus outside of the classroom where we could connect with each other and dedicate ourselves to activism and community volunteering.
