The EMU signature must be included on all documents that will be seen outside the University. The signature is not necessary, and should not be included, on classroom materials, student publications (unless directly affiliated with an official EMU event) or other publications meant solely for single-department use.

The easy test for whether a document requires an EMU service mark is to ask the question "Will anyone outside my department read this?" If the answer is at least "maybe," then an official, approved EMU insignia is necessary.
