The police are seeking the identity of this suspect in this computer-generated image. This is NOT a photo. The suspect sexually assaulted a student in the Mark Jefferson Building on the EMU campus at about 8 p.m. May 11, 2005. Anyone with information should contact the EMU Police at 734.487.1222 |
INCIDENT REPORT: According to EMU Police, the victim was working with a partner in a science lab. Her partner left the lab to get food, leaving the victim alone. While she was alone, the alleged suspect (see image above) entered the lab and forced her into an adjacent room where he assaulted her. During the attack, the perpetrator was distracted by noise in the main lab. When he went to investigate, the victim was able to escape. She ran out of the building to Strong Hall, where an EMU staff member called for help.
University Police responded to the call at approximately 8:40 p.m. The victim was transported by ambulance to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital where the Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) was activated. The victim was treated and released.
The victim described her attacker as a black male, approximately 5'10" to 6' tall, wearing red and white shoes and a blue hockey jersey with white lettering.
