Student Organization

The School of Social Work supports Social Welfare Action at EMU (SWA@EMU) which involves social work students in the process of their education and initiates programs framed around student advocacy and greater community involvement. This organization includes MSW students as well as BSW students. 

The School of Social Work hosts a student chapter of the Association of Black Social Workers (ABSW) which is committed to enhancing the quality of life and empowering people of African ancestry through advocacy human services delivery, and research.  Student members and supporters participate in leadership development and community service activities.  http://www.nabsw.org/mserver/

Students in the BSW and MSW Programs at the School of Social Work are working to launch a new organization, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Allies Alliance (LGBTA Alliance) and will provide more information upon request.
