Do Business Students Believe a "Glass Ceiling" Exists
in the Workplace?
This study assessed whether business students
believe a "glass ceiling" exists in the workplace. The
148 student respondents consisted of mostly junior and senior
undergraduate business students at Eastern Michigan University.
This study measured differences in male and female business students
perceptions of the "glass ceiling". Variables in the
survey instrument focused on the areas of compensation, developmental
opportunities, career interruptions, work environment and culture,
work attitudes, and work-family conflict.
