Building a Financial Drill-Down Application for U of M Hospital Finance DataMart

This project represents a historic first where University of Michigan's information technology department allowed interns to work on a major IS initiative. Four EMU accounting information systems students created a Microsoft Access based prototype of UMHS HFDM Web-based, reports detail drill-down capability that demonstrated to decision-makers timely control and better decision-making. The UMHF end-users conducted functional tests on the prototype. The redesign team used the prototype to communicate functional needs to their vendor, Siebel Systems.

The Effect of Sleeping Patterns on Business Performance: More or Less?

Using correlation analysis and linear regression approach, the effect of sleep time on a series of employees' performances has been explored. The data suggest that (i) there might exist a linear relationship between sleep time and mental errors; and (i i) more sleep time might contribute to fewer mental errors and better emotional and physical ratings. These results will provide a solution to improving business performance via a simple way.
