To Track or Not to Track

Tracking has been a controversial issue for educators for the past 20 years. In this presentation, the author explores the arguments surrounding the issue of tracking in areas such as achievement, segregation, social psychological effects, mobility, curricula, and placement. She also provides steps on how one can implement the change to detracking, based on the book, The Heart of Change, by John Potter. In conclusion, she gives her own thoughts and beliefs on tracking and detracking.

University Diversity Trends

Diversity plays a very important role in all of our lives. Diversity enriches the educational experience and cultivates learning. We learn from those whose experiences, beliefs and perspectives are different from our own. Diversity also challenges stereotyped preconceptions and it encourages critical thinking. This project will examine the trends in what universities are doing to enhance the learning experience of culturally diverse students across the country with diverse populations.
