The Wars Waged on Drugs, Terrorism and Individual Rights in Colombia

Many governments have increasing difficulty balancing individual rights and state security. I will examine policies in Colombia regarding the “war on drugs” and “war on terrorism,” their effect on individual rights and how U.S.-Colombia relations influence such policies. This will help understand the connection between international and domestic politics as they relate to individual rights.
