Improving Instruction through Assessment: A Two-Year Study of Student Performance in BIOL 303 - Life Science for Elementary Teachers

BIOL 303 is now delivered in a new instructional format including two hours of WebCT. To maintain high quality instruction, we assessed student performance (n=880) three semesters prior to and after the change in the delivery format. Comparisons were made between a pretest taken on the first day of the semester and questions embedded in four exams. Confidence levels in pedagogical skills were also assessed prior to and following completion of the course.
