Amphiphilic Silver Delivery of Bactericidal Activity in Coatings

Technology #3001.1

Bookmark and Share

This invention provides a method to manufacture a bactericidal composition utilizing a silver ion surfactant and a coating composition binder that can be easily incorporated into a number of finishing systems. A finishing system so enhanced can confer biocidal properties in coatings such as paint, urethanes or other protective coatings. It could also be incorporated into fiber and textile products.

Applications could include coatings for surfaces in medical facilities, food processing facilities, ventilation ducts, telephones, public transportation and reception areas.
