Nanoporous and Microporous Materials from Ionic Liquid Surfactant Stabilized Microemulsions

Technology #3002.1

Bookmark and Share

This invention can be used to provide a nanoporous to microporous material of three- dimensional structure by a single pot synthesis where the porosity can be tuned chemically and the pores can be filled with diverse phases for advanced materials applications.

Applications include filters to decontaminate and recycle water which incorporate both leaching and non-leaching pharmacophores that will kill problematic bacteria. The technology can also be used as supports for catalysts as well as scaffolds for cell and tissue regeneration and culturing.
