Dear Students, Faculty and Staff,

We would like to introduce our campus community to Dr. Melody Werner, Eastern Michigan University’s Title IX Coordinator. In her role, Melody has the primary responsibility to oversee the University’s educational and prevention initiatives, as well as the University’s response to reports and complaints that involve possible sex discrimination, to monitor outcomes, identify and address any patterns, and assess effects on the campus climate so that EMU can address issues that affect the wider University community.
Prior to her serving as the Title IX Coordinator, Melody worked in the EMU Athletics Department serving as the Associate Director for Compliance and as Senior Associate Athletics Director/Senior Woman Administrator. She served as the Interim Athletics Director in 2014. Melody earned her bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate degrees from EMU.
