Resetting a Forgotten My.Emich Password

EMU faculty, staff and students can use the Password Management application to reset a forgotten My.Emich password.

Follow these directions to access the Password Management application:

1. From your browser, navigate to the Password Management Log in page at https://account.emich.edu.
   
2. The Password Management Log In page is displayed.
3. Click the Forgotten Password button.
   
4. The Enter Username page is displayed.
   
   
   Note: If you do not remember your username, follow these instructions to look it up.
5. Type your My.Emich username in the Username field and click the Search button.
   • The system will send a verification code to the alternate email address specified in your Password Management account profile.
   • If you have not added an alternate email address to your account profile, a message stating "There is no contact information available for your account. Please contact the IT Help Desk at 734.487.2120" is displayed.
   
6. The Code Verification page is displayed.
7. Type the verification code you received in the email message, in the Code field.
8. Click the Check Code button.
   
9. The Change Password page is displayed.
10. Type your new password in the New Password field. Your password must meet the listed guidelines.
11. Type your new password again in the Confirm Password field. System prompts will indicate when the passwords do not match or when your password does not meet the designated length or guidelines.
12. Click the Change Password button.
    
13. A Please Wait message is displayed as your password is changed in all EMU systems.
    
14. The Password Change Confirmation page is displayed.
15. Click the Continue button.
    
16. The Update Profile description page is displayed.
17. Click the Logout button.
    
18. The Logout page is displayed. Close your browser window before attempting to login to My.Emich again.
