Course/My Courses Calendar Overview

Course calendars are an efficient way for instructors to communicate important dates to students. Additionally, instructors and students can use course calendars to keep track of their class schedules.

Deleting a Calendar

As an instructor, a course calendar will display in your EagleMail Calendar list when you are assigned as the instructor to a section. This assignment is usually performed by the person in your area who enters course sections into Banner, the University's administrative system. As a student, a course calendar will display in your EagleMail Calendar list when you register for a section.

Note: Instructors have Admin access, meaning they have full permissions to the calendar, including changing calendar permissions and sharing the calendar. Registered students have Viewer access to calendars, meaning they cannot change the calendar by default.

If a new member is added via the My Courses channel in My.Emich, Teacher Assistants (TA) will have Manager access, meaning they have full permissions to the calendar, except for changing calendar permissions and sharing the calendar. Guests will have Viewer access to calendars, meaning they cannot change the calendar by default.

Follow these directions to work with course calendars:

  1. Log in to your EagleMail account. See Logging In to the EagleMail Web Client for more information.

Note: Optionally, click the Calendar link in the My Courses channel in My.Emich to launch the EagleMail Calendar tab.
  2. Check the course calendar(s) you want to work with. See Viewing Multiple Calendars for more information.

Note: Some information about course calendars:

    • The calendar name (e.g., WI10-ORPR-605-0) includes the section semester code, subject code, course number, and section numbers.
    • Calendar appointments (i.e., events) are recurring based on the section part of term dates, meetings days, and meeting times. See Create a Recurring Calendar Event for more information.
    • Each event displays the section's subject, title, course number, and section number (e.g., ORPR-605-0 (Clinical Gait Analysis)) along with the meeting building and room (e.g., WARNER 239).
