  8. The Course/Attribute Attachment block is populated with the prerequisites for the course. Review the Set column.

Note: A pre-requisite grouping is defined by their set code. Pre-requisites with the same set code in the Set column are considered separately from pre-requisites in another set code. In this example there are two groups of pre-requisites. To meet the pre-requisites of this course the student must satisfy pre-requisites of set code 010 and set code 020:

Set Code 010: CHEM 123 and CHEM 124 or CHEM 125 and CHEM 126

    *AND*

Set Code 020: CHEM 270 or CHEM 272

    SMAAREA
Note: Use the Vertical and Horizontal scroll bars to view all of the information.
  9. Review the Subset column.

Note: Pre-requisites with the same set code (grouping) contain the same subset code must be considered together. Continuing with the same example, Set code 010 has two subset codes. To meet the pre-requisites, the student must either satisfy subset code 001 or subset code 002:

Subset Code 001: CHEM 123 and CHEM 124

    *OR*

Subset Code 002: CHEM 125 and CHEM 126

    SMAAREA
  10. Review the Set and Subset columns together.

Note: In considering how to satisfy the pre-requisites for a course you must look at both the set codes and subset codes together. Continuing with the same example, the student must either satisfy the following pre-requisites:

    Set Code 010 >> Subset Code 001: CHEM 123 and CHEM 124

    *OR*

    Set Code 010 >> Subset Code 002: CHEM 125 and CHEM 126

    *AND*

Set Code 020: CHEM 270 or CHEM 272
