Changing the List Header and Footer

Header and footer information are automatically included when a message is sent to the list membership. It is optional to add a header. The default footer can be optionally changed to help maintain list privacy, or add supplental information to the end of authorized postings.

Follow the instructions below to add a header or change the footer of your list:

Adding a Header
  1. From the Configuration Categories menu, select the Non-digest options link.

  2. In the "Header added to mail sent to regular list members" Header text box, enter standard text to be included at the top of each message.

    For example, you can add:

    "This is an announcement only list. Unauthorized postings will be automatically discarded."

  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Submit Your Changes button.

Changing the Footer
  1. From the Configuration Categories menu, select the Non-digest options link.

  2. In the "Footer added to mail sent to regular list members" Footer text box, enter text to include at the end of the message. In the case of an announcement-only list, delete the last line to eliminate the ability for outsider to request a subsription to the list:

  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Submit your changes button.

Note: To separate the optional header from the rest of the message and maintain readability, add a blank line or several underscore characters in a row at the end of the header message.
