Changing Your Class Schedule

Use the Add or Drop Classes link to change your class schedule. At times, it may be necessary for you to change your course schedule after you have registered for classes. Depending on the timing of your change, you may add, drop or withdraw from any course. See the academic calendar on the Records and Registration web site for specific date information.

Adding/Registering for a Class

During open enrollment, you can add a class to your schedule at any time using the Add or Drop Classes page. See Registering for Classes for more information.

Dropping or Withdrawing from a Class

Within the 100% drop period, you can drop a class from your schedule at any time. Dropping a class removes it from your class schedule without any notation on your permanent record. Should you need to drop your last remaining class, however, you will need to contact Records and Registration for assistance; you cannot drop your last class via the Web. Once the 100% drop period has ended, you can no longer drop a class from your schedule; instead, you must withdraw. Although withdrawing removes you from the class, it is recorded as a 'W' grade on your permanent record.

Follow these directions to drop or withdraw from a class:

  1. Navigate to the Student Services menu. See Student Services Overview for more information.
  2. Click the Registration link.

  3. The Registration menu is displayed. Click the Student Detail Schedule link.

    Note: You may be prompted to select a term. See Term Selection for more information.
  4. The Add or Drop Classes for page is displayed. Click the Action field pull-down arrow for the class you want to drop or withdraw.

    Note: Within the 100% drop period, select the Web Drop action to drop the course. Following the 100% drop period, select the Withdraw from Class-'W' Grade action to withdraw from the course.
  5. Repeat step four (4) until all desired classes have been dropped/withdrawn.
  6. When you are finished, click the Submit Changes button.

    Note: When you drop a class, your schedule will no longer include the dropped class.

  7. When you are finished, click the Student Services tab to return to the Student Services menu.
