Looking-up Classes

Prior to the start of the registration period, you should review the requirements of courses for which you plan to register. You should also verify that you are eligible to register for classes.

Navigate to Look-Up Classes Page | Course Search | Advanced Search

Follow these directions to look-up classes:

  1. Navigate to the Student Services menu. See Student Services Overview for more information.
  2. Click the Registration link.

  3. The Registration page is displayed. Click the Look-up Classes link.

    Note: You may be prompted to select a term. See Term Selection for more information.
  4. The Look-Up Classes for page is displayed.

Course Search

Follow these directions to look up a list of courses by subject:

  1. From the Look-Up Classes for page, select the subject from the Subject field.
  2. Click the Course Search button.

  3. The Look-Up Classes for page displays a list of courses with the selected subject. To view a list of sections for a particular course, click the View Sections button to the right of the course name.

Advanced Search

Follow these directions to look up a list of classes by various criteria:

  1. From the Look-Up Classes for page, Click the Advanced Search button.

  2. The Advanced Search page is displayed. Select the subject from the Subject field.
  3. Type a course number in the Course Number field.

    Note: If appropriate, select a schedule type (e.g., Lecture, Lab, etc.) from the Schedule Type field.
  4. Click the Class Search button.

  5. A list of sections matching your criteria is displayed in the Look-up Classes for page. Click a CRN link in the CRN column to review detail class information.

    Note: The Look-up Classes for page also allows you to a) add selected classes to a worksheet via the Add to Worksheet button, b) register for selected classes via the Register button, or c) review summary class information. Listed below is an explanation of key column information found on the Look-up Classes for page.
    • Select - the status of each section
      • Checkbox - the course is available for registration
      • C- indicates that a class is closed
      • NR - the course is not available for registration
      • SR - the student is restricted from registering for the class
    • CMP - the campus (e.g., M1 = main campus) where the class will be held
    • CAP - the number of seats in a class
    • ACT - the number of students registered for the class
    • REM - the number of seats remaining or available for registration

  6. The Class Schedule Listing page is displayed. Click the View Catalog Entry link.

  7. The Catalog Entries page is displayed. Click on the Course Name link.

  8. The Detailed Course Information page is displayed.

    Note: Review the Prerequisites and Restrictions sections to determine your eligibility to register.

  9. When you are finished, click the Student Services tab to return to the Student Services menu.
