About TRIO Student Support Services

Eastern Michigan University’s TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) is a program funded by the U.S. Department of Education to provide opportunities for academic development, assist students with basic college requirements, and  motivate students who are first-generation, low-income, or have a documented disability toward the successful completion of their postsecondary education. The goal of TRIO SSS is to increase the college retention and graduation rates of its participants. As part of EMU's TRIO SSS Program, students have access to tailored cultural activities to help them acclimate to the university and develop strong relationships with their peers, instructors, and advisors.

Mission

TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) at EMU advocates for its students and supports them as they strive for academic and professional excellence.

Vision

Every TRIO SSS student will engage in a diverse community of life-long learning and will graduate with the knowledge necessary to become a meaningful contributor to society.
