The Textiles Research & Training Institute would like

Julie Becker, director of Eastern Michigan's Textile Research
and Training Institute, finds herself immersed in 6,000 yards
of fabric, donated by Johnson Controls Inc. and La-Z-Boy,
which will be used to design headrests and automotive seating.
EMU's textile students gain hands-on experience working with
the automotive, furniture and apparel industries. The Institute's
staff also trains industry workers in the use of pattern design
software. Clients include Herman Miller; Irvin Automotive;
Johnson Controls Inc.; Second Chance Body Armor; Applied Textiles;
and the U.S Navy.
