Eastern Michigan University’s GameAbove College of Engineering and Technology students had an exclusive opportunity to visit the General Electric (GE) Aerospace facility in Grand Rapids to gain insights into the manufacturing, quality assurance, and engineering processes involved in GE Aerospace's products, including the development of black boxes for aircraft.
The College of Education was established in 1959. R. Stanley Gex was the first dean.
The first class to graduate from the Normal school included Helen Norris, John M.B. Sill, and Alizina Morton in 1854.
John W. Porter was the first Black president of EMU (1979-1989).
