AGING MUSLIM FAMILIES: LINKS TO THE PAST, BRIDGES TO THE FUTURE: Join us for the 2012 Gerontology Program Fall Lecture on Wednesday, October 10, 4 - 6 p.m., in Student Center Ballroom B. This year's lecture will be presented by Kristine Ajrouch, Professor of Sociology at EMU with a panel response from Haaris Ahmed, Najah Bazzy, Abdullah El-Amin, and Bedrie Hyssen. Following the lecture, a reception will be held with light hors d'oeuvres. This event is FREE, no tickets required, and is LBC-Group 3 approved. STAR LECTURE SERIES: Please join the Honors College and the College of Arts and Sciences for the 2nd Star Lecture Series of the year "If We Can, Should We? Ethics and Science" to be offered by Dr. Harriet Lindsay, Tuesday, October 16, 7 - 8:30 p.m., in the Halle Auditorium. In this discussion, Dr. Lindsay will explore specific details about a recent scientific discovery that raised national security issues, and she will engage the audience in considering the larger question of pursuing knowledge that may have dangerous implications. All faculty and students are invited. Both Honors Experience and LBC credit are available.
