UNDERGRADUATE SYMPOSIUM: The 33rd Undergraduate Symposium will be held Friday, March 22, in the Student Center. This year's event will feature 214 oral presentations, 88 poster displays, and 60 Design Expo exhibits that will be presented by 430 students representing all academic disciplines. MICHIGAN COLLEGIATE JOB FAIR: EMU'S bi-annual Michigan Collegiate Job Fair (MCJF) is one of the state's largest career fairs, bringing graduating seniors and alumni from Michigan's colleges and universities together with over 120 employers to begin their job search. The upcoming fair will take place on Friday, March 22, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Burton Manor in Livonia, MI. Candidates may pre-register online through March 20 for $10; thereafter candidates may register on-site the day of the fair at a cost of $15. BEST BUDDIES MICHIGAN FRIENDSHIP WALK: EMU and the U of M Best Buddies programs are teaming up to spread awareness about disabilities by hosting a Friendship 1-mile Walk, Sunday, March 24, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Gallup Park, 3000 Fuller Road in Ann Arbor. $15 per registrant by March 20, $20 on day of walk. All proceeds go towards the EMU and U of M Best Buddies programs. THE SECOND CITY IMPROVISATION COMEDY GROUP COMING TO EMU: The departments of Risk Management and Diversity & Affirmative Action are hosting the event "How to Manage and Respond to Bullying, Generational Differences and Violence in the Workplace" on Tuesday, April 9, from 9 - 11:30 a.m., in Room 201, Welch Hall. The workshop is presented by the highly acclaimed Second City Communications improvisation comedy group. This interactive, humorous session will help employees explore the behavioral side of these sensitive issues. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. EXPLORE THE POWERHOUSES OF THE UNIVERSE AT THE PLANETARIUM: The EMU planetarium will feature the movie "Stars," Friday, April 12 and Friday, April 26, at 7 p.m., in the Mark Jefferson Science Complex. "Stars," narrated by actor Mark Hamill, is the Sudekum Planetarium's first original full-dome, digital production. Adventure Science Center collaborated with the National Space Centre in Leicester, England, to create this stunning 26-minute show exploring the powerhouses of the universe and our relationship with the night sky throughout history. Following the movie, participates will get to enjoy a live demonstration of the current night sky locally. Space is limited. TRUEMU DAY AT EASTERN MARKET IN DOWNTOWN DETROIT: Shop with your TRUEMU friends or make new ones at Detroit's historic Eastern Market on Saturday, April 20. The day starts with a short presentation at 9 a.m. in Shed 5 off Alfred Street. After the presentation, receive a special "I LOVE EASTERN" recycled heavy duty grocery tote bag, which will provide you with discounts at a few selected Eastern Market businesses the rest of the day.
