GET FIT WITH EAGLEFIT: Join EagleFIT for one of their FREE 50-minute group workout sessions and get yourself back in shape. Free for all EMU students, as well as staff and faculty with gym access. The following classes are available:
- Spinning Workout Session - Tuesdays, 7 - 8 p.m., in Court 6 (Spinning Room) at the REC/IM.
- Group Workout Session - Fridays, 5 - 6 p.m., in Room 212 (Utility Gym) at the REC/IM.
WEMU NEEDS VOLUNTEERS FOR SPRING PLEDGE DRIVE: WEMU needs volunteers to answer phones and take pledges during their Spring On-Air Pledge Drive, Thursday, April 4 through Thursday, April 11, in the WEMU studios located on the fourth floor of King Hall. Shifts are a minimum of two hours and run between 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays, 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday, and 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday. Lots of great food and beverages donated from area restaurants. Students are eligible for community service credit. Sign up by phone at 487-2229 on online at www.wemu.org.
TRAINING SESSIONS ON PRIVACY ISSUES: To ensure that Eastern and its faculty and staff are in compliance/legal and regulatory requirement related to privacy issues, a new training session has been developed by the Office of Business and Finance. The privacy training, which is mandatory for all faculty and staff, is offered on several different dates and times in and effort to accommodate schedules, and will also be offered in an online format. Faculty and staff can attend any of the sessions listed below:
- Thursday, March 28, 1 - 2 p.m., Halle Auditorium
- Monday, April 8, 11 - Noon, Halle Auditorium
Based on these sessions, a program will be developed for the on-line HR system called Success Factors. If you would like to arrange a training session for your department, please contact Margaret Tsilis at 487-3328. Participation is mandatory to attend one of the training sessions or to complete on-line (once developed). Additional dates will be announced. REQUIRED SAFETY AWARENESS, HAZARD COMMUNICATION TRAINING: Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) will be conducting safety awareness & hazard communication training sessions. This is required for all EMU employees who have not yet taken this training and for those who may need a refresher. It is open to all employees and student employees, and provides information on the safety systems, practices and expectations to maintain a safe campus community. The training session for Friday, April 12 is full but the following dates are still open:
- Friday, May 10, 1- 2:30 p.m., in Room 302, Halle Library
- Friday, June 14, 1- 2:30 p.m., in Room 302, Halle Library

LUNCH AND LEARN SESSION: Human Resources is pleased to offer "Interviewing Skills and EMU Job Searching" today, March 27, 12 - 2 p.m., in the HR Training Suite. Learn interviewing techniques and guidelines for making a positive impression during your next interview. This session will help attendees learn to control anxiety during the interview process. SUCCESS FOR WOMEN IN GRADUATE SCHOOL: Get helpful answers to confusing questions about graduate school during the event tonight, March 27, 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m., in Room 300, Halle Library. This discussion hopes to demystify and support the possibility of graduate school for current EMU undergraduate students and women in the surrounding community. It will also try to help answer the confusing question current female graduate students might ask themselves "What's next?"
MOVIE - "IMAGES FROM DETROIT'S CASS CORRIDOR": Directed by Shaun Bangert and Kathryn Brackett Luchs, the movie "Images from Detroit's Cass Corridor," will be shown tonight, March 27, at 5:30 p.m., in the Halle Library Auditorium. In this film, artists share their personal visions by being in geographical proximity to one another, making works that mark an era in Detroit's history that is now regarded as being highly significant. During the late 1960s and through the 1970s, some artists living in Detroit explored alternative, inventive and personal approaches to making art.
