Eastern Michigan, Mott Community College announce new articulation agreements for business, nursing and technology managementYPSILANTI — Eastern Michigan University (EMU) and Mott Community College (MCC) in Flint have formalized three agreements that allow students at MCC to seamlessly transition into three different degree programs at Eastern. The agreements are effective Sept. 1, 2009. The agreements will allow students to take up to 94 credits of coursework at MCC and then transfer those credits toward a bachelor’s degree in either nursing or technology management at EMU, or 85 credits toward a bachelor’s degree in business administration. “These agreements provide a wonderful example of how Eastern Michigan collaborates with community colleges to help Michigan citizens complete a college degree at an affordable price close to home,” said Susan Martin, president of Eastern Michigan University. "In 1991, Mott Community College initiated a partnership with universities to offer upper division classes on MCC's main campus – our University Center, and Eastern Michigan University was one of our first partners," said MCC President M. Richard Shaink. "Our partnership with Eastern Michigan University is outstanding. These articulation agreements enhance our ability to encourage students to consider career options in the high demand areas of nursing, business and technology. I am so proud and so excited about the MCC/EMU partnership. I am confident that it will foster successful outcomes for students' advancing in their educational and professional careers." “It is exciting that students will be able to transfer to Eastern without losing credits or having to repeat course work. Eastern Michigan University has 93 articulation agreements with 13 of the 28 community colleges throughout Michigan, two community colleges in Ohio and one technical college in Windsor, Ontario.
