EMU Foundation Board of Trustees elects new officers

YPSILANTI — The Eastern Michigan University Foundation Board of Trustees has elected new officers for 2009-10. All serve as volunteers:

Maureen Thomas, chair, EMU class of 1981, legal, risk management and operating consultant, Building Materials Holding Corp.

Dan Arbour, past chair, EMU class of 1977, president and CEO, National Archive Publishing Co.

Dale Heydlauff, vice chair, EMU class of 1978, vice president, corporate communications, American Electric Power Service Corp. 

Jim Greene, vice chair, partner, Dykema Gossett

Ronald Reed, treasurer, EMU class of 1986, managing director, Seneca Partners

The newly elected trustee is:

Vickie Brockman Hall most recently served as vice president of human resources for the Midwest Division of Comcast Cable.  Hall has over 25 years of experience in human resources specializing in field operations, employee/labor relations, acquisition and mergers, talent management and compensation/benefits. Hall received her BBA from Eastern Michigan University in 1979 and an MBA from the University of Detroit Mercy in 1993. She is currently working on a Ph.D. from Capella University.  Hall is involved in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and is currently vice president of their Vision Fair Foundation.  She resides in Southfield, Mich.

Dan Arbour and Lee Lien, EMU class of 1980, were granted emeritus status.

Representing the University for 2009-10 are:

Susan Martin, EMU president and Jaclynn C. Tracy, EMU class of 1980, department head of EMU’s Leadership & Counseling Department

Representing the EMU Board of Regents are: James F. Stapleton and Mohamed Okdie

Professor Matt Evett will represent the EMU Faculty Council; Emeritus Professor Thomas Gwaltney will represent the emeritus faculty; Greg Sheldon will represent the Alumni Association Board of Directors; the student representative for 2009-10 is Regina Royan, EMU student body president.

The EMU Foundation is a private, nonprofit corporation that increases private support and manages endowment assets for the benefit of Eastern Michigan University.
