EMU Regents approve five lecturer appointments, two lecturer promotions

YPSILANTI - The Eastern Michigan University Board of Regents approved the appointments of five new lecturers and promoted two lecturers at its regular meeting June 15.

Of the five appointments, one is male and four are female. Demographics show all are Caucasian. All appointments are effective Sept. 1, 2010.

New lecturers and their departments are:

Gina Boldman

Gina Boldman

Gina Boldman, of Saline, lecturer I, English language and literature. Boldman has been an adjunct professor at Eastern Michigan University since 2006 and a part-time faculty member at Washtenaw Community College from 2002-2009. Boldman received both her master’s degree in children’s literature and bachelor’s degree in English language and literature from Eastern Michigan University.

Trinalynn Moore, of Canton, Mich., lecturer I, School of Nursing. Moore previously was an adjunct faculty instructor in EMU’s School of Nursing from 2003-2009. She also was an adjunct educator for the nursing education department at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor from 2000-2009.  She also was a staff nurse at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital from 2000-2009. Moore received both her master’s degree in nursing education and bachelor’s degree in nursing from Eastern Michigan University.

Gerald Newberry, of Monroe, lecturer I, School of Nursing. Newberry currently is the assistant chair of nursing at Owens Community College, a position he’s been in since 2005. He also has been in a variety of healthcare positions at Promedica Health Care System in Toledo since 2001. Newberry received his master’s degree in nursing from Eastern Michigan University and his bachelor’s degree in nursing from Lourdes College.

Cecila O'Connor

Cecila O’Connor, of Trenton, lecturer I,  School of Nursing. Since 2009, O’Connor has been a clinical and lab instructor at Eastern Michigan University.  She has been a member of the Expedient MedStaff Agency at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan since 2001. O’Connor received her master’s degree in nursing from the University of Detroit-Mercy and her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Phoenix-Michigan.

Kimberly Pavlock, of South Lyon, lecturer I, English language and literature. Pavlock has been in a variety of positions at EMU since 2004, most recently as a consultant with EMU’s Writing Center, where she’s been since 2008.  Pavlock received her master’s degree in written communication from Eastern Michigan University and her bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Michigan.

Lecturers who received a promotion are:

Brad Sietz

Brad Sietz

Brad Sietz, of Canton, Mich., lecturer II, Halle Library. Sietz currently works in the Instructor College Reading Club at the University of Michigan, where he’s been since 2006. He also currently is a reference assistant at the University of Michigan Taubman Medical Library, a position he’s been in since 2005. Sietz received both his master’s degree in science information and his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Michigan.

John Wegner, of Toledo, lecturer III, history and philosophy. Before coming to EMU, Wegner was an adjunct instructor of history at Owens Community College from 1999 to the present. Previously, Wagner was an adjunct instructor of history at Heidelberg College in Maumee from 1996. Wegner received both his doctorate of philosophy and his master’s degree in speech communication from Bowling Green State University, and his bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Toledo.
