YPSILANTI — The Eastern Michigan University Office for Alumni Relations will host two socials for its California alumni and friends.

The first social is scheduled Wednesday, Jan. 28, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., at the Balboa Bay Club and Resort, 1221 West Coast Highway, in Newport Beach. Alumni, friends and guests are welcome to attend. The cost is $15; reservations are required.

The second event will be Thursday, Jan. 29, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., at the Terrace Café, 7 Washington Blvd., in Venice. The cost is $15; reservations are required.

“These events are a great way for alumni to network and reconnect with old friends, as well as meet the newest member of the EMU family, President Susan Martin.  President Martin’s vision and her strive for excellence have made a significant impact in the lives of our students, alumni and friends of the university,” said Vicki Reaume, executive director of alumni relations.

“We have more than 1,350 alumni in southern California and we would love to see all of them come out to the event,” said Marian Bliznik, EMU’s southern California alumni chapter president.

Guests will have the opportunity to learn all of the latest updates from EMU’s campus.  In addition, representatives from the EMU southern California alumni chapter will be on hand to talk about ongoing alumni activities in the area.
