YPSILANTI — While there are several factors that influence the equation, the value of a graduate degree usually equals higher earnings and better job security.

If you are looking to obtain a graduate certificate, master’s, specialist or doctoral degree and have questions, the Eastern Michigan University Graduate Open House, Jan. 30, can help.

The event, which is free, is from 9:30- a.m.- 1:30 p.m. at the EMU Student Center. For more information, call 734.487.3060 or 1.800.468.6368.

“Having the opportunity to discuss graduate program details with faculty and staff in a one-stop-shop format is a valuable use of the applicant's time,” said Deb de Laski-Smith, interim dean of the graduate school. “Some students are not sure which program they really want. They can explore options before completing the paperwork. Applications may be submitted with transcripts and other supporting materials to follow. We again look forward to a crowded room this year!”

Faculty and graduate program coordinators will address questions from 10 a.m.-noon in the Student Center Ballroom. Seminars on the application process, financial aid/graduate assistantships are from noon-1:30 p.m. Representatives from admissions, records and financial aid will be on hand to answers questions.

EMU will accept on-site admissions applications and waive the normal graduate application fee.

Parking is free for this event.
