Eastern Michigan's special education program to host auction to benefit students with special needs

YPSILANTI - Eastern Michigan University’s Department of Special Education will host  ‘Everyone is Extraordinary,’ an auction to benefit students with special needs, Thursday, Feb. 18, 6-9 p.m., Eastern Michigan’s Ballroom in the Student Center.

Vic Faust, co-anchor of WXYZ-TV's Action News, is master of ceremonies.

All proceeds from the auction will be used to create an endowed scholarship to provide an opportunity for students with special needs to take college courses at Eastern Michigan.

The event will feature both a silent and live auction. More than 50 items will be auctioned off, including Detroit Tigers, Red Wings and Pistons memorabilia; Michigan International Speedway track tours and pace car rides; Motown Celebrity Guided Tours for 10 guests; a Lake Huron Home Weekend Getaway; jewelry; gift baskets and more.

Tickets are $30 per person, $50 per couple and $5 for students. Tickets can be purchased at www.emutix.com or call 734.487.2282.

Eastern Michigan University’s Department of Special Education is the largest and most comprehensive special education unit in the country. Graduates have been recognized nationally for their work in the field.
