YPSILANTI - The "0,0,0" tuition, room and board freeze for 2010-2011 was based on a projection that the University could increase enrollment by a minimum of 3.4 percent. It is the first time in 25 years that one of Michigan's 15 publics has held the line on year-to-year tuition increases, and comes at a time of projections of continued reductions in higher education funding. "The right move at the right time" was taken in order to help Michigan students and families in these challenging economic times.
Are preliminary enrollment numbers meeting projections? What impact has "0,0,0" had on summer enrollment? How did Eastern arrive at the 0% increase, particularly with costs increasing? What has been the reaction from students, families?
