“Derivatives: A Recycling of Ideas”
July 22 was the opening reception for Derivatives: A Recycling of Ideas, an exhibition of art installations by EMU students and recent graduates Amy Atzmon, Suzanne Boissy, Lois Bryant, Bridget Burke, Jonathan Crays, Kimberly Kelley, Maggie Manville, Laura Thompson, and Jacob Wilkinson.
“The impetus for this exhibition was to experiment, explore and question the works and ideas of historic and contemporary artists,” said Bryant, a recent MFA graduate. “The installations, while entirely original, are personal responses and tributes to artists whose works are directly related to the works of the exhibiting artists.”
The artwork will remain on display through August in both the Student Gallery and the University Gallery on the second floor of the Student Center.
Admission is free and open to the public. Contact the gallery for hours: 734.487.1077.
