YPSILANTI - No matter what happens on the field between Eastern Michigan University and Toledo in the Eagles' home game Oct. 30, there will be a "Thriller."

Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Rynearson Stadium. Tickets are $9 for adults and  $3 for children 12 and younger. A family 4-Pack
is $40 and includes four tickets, four hot dogs and four sodas. Call 487-2282 for tickets or go to http://www.emueagles.com

There will be plenty of Halloween treats, and at least one trick, before the game.

The trick involves a group of students posing as zombies who will perform before the game.

"We wanted to do something fun because it's the day before Halloween," said Ted Coutilish, associate vice president for marketing at EMU. "Someone in communications came up with the "Thriller" idea and everyone thought it would be fun if we could pull it off."

Finding someone to fill Michael Jackson's shoes and working with zombies was the responsibility of Nick Downs, a junior from Livonia, who works with the EMU marketing team.

"We got the EMU Competitive Dance Team involved and they choreographed the dance," said Downs, 22. "They were motivated and excited to do this."
Downs said that dance team, which has about 15 performers, has been rehearsing for a month.

"The moves in the dance are very iconic and recognizable," said Downs.
The group got help with costumes and make-up from the communications, theatre and media arts department.

The dress rehearsal was staged at the student center Oct. 27 and was videotaped.

"It all worked really well. This was about EMU students coming together to do something positive for the University," said Downs.

The game day plan is supposed to be a surprise, Downs said, but don't be surprised when the music comes on and you are caught in the middle of a real "Thriller!"
