YPSILANTI -Prospective high school and transfer students will have a chance to explore Eastern Michigan University, Saturday, March 26, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the EMU Student Center, 900 Oakwood Street, in Ypsilanti. The event is free.

The Explore Eastern program provides students with an opportunity to meet with representatives from various academic programs, including deans and faculty members, along with staff from housing, dining, career services, financial aid, scholarships and other areas.

Campus tours of a classroom building, the Halle Library, the Olds-Robb Recreation and Intramural Building and a residence hall room will run every 15 minutes.

All students attending Explore Eastern will be able to apply for admission free of charge, a $20 savings.  High school seniors can enter random drawings to win 12 free credit hours of in-state tuition, while transfers can win six credit hours of in-state tuition.

High school seniors can get a priority admissions decision. Just bring your official high school transcript in a sealed envelope, and official ACT or SAT scores, and you can receive a decision.

One iPad will be given away in a drawing to a high school or community college student who attends the open house, and one will be given away in a drawing to a parent/guardian who attends the open house with their high school or community college student.

Parking at the Student Center is free. For further details and to register, go to
