YPSILANTI - Eastern Michigan University is co-sponsoring the Second Annual Michigan Human Resources Day June 14, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Lansing Center.

More than 800 professionals from across the state are expected to attend the event, which connects human resource professionals from Michigan's public and private sectors to provide a forum in which to exchange information, ideas and experiences. The day will address the relevance of human resources as an integral part of Michigan's economic revitalization.
Guest speakers will include Scott Foster, president of Wellco Corp., who will discuss "HR Heroics - How to Turn Bad News into Best Practices and Bounce Back from the Health Care Crisis." Shawne Duperon, CEO of Shawne TV and a six-time Emmy Award winner, will present "Networking for Neanderthals."
The day will culminate with Gov. Rick Snyder recognizing the vital role human resources plays in recruiting and maintaining a skilled work force to assist in rebuilding the state.
Breakout sessions, led by representatives from Michigan-based organizations, include: cultural intelligence, best practices, health care reform, social media, capitol hill update and HR optimization.
