EMU regents approve six faculty, two staff retirements

YPSILANTI - The Eastern Michigan University Board of Regents approved the retirement of six faculty members and two staff members at its regular meeting June 21.

Faculty members retiring from the University are:

Eddie Bedford, of Chicago, assistant professor in the School of Health Promotion and Human Performance, who retired in January 2011, after 22 years of service.

Gary Evans, of Manchester, professor of communication, media and theatre arts, retired in January 2011, after 45 years of service.

Arthur Howard, of Ypsilanti, professor of chemistry, who retired in January 2011 after 21 years of service.

Barry Fish, of Ann Arbor, professor of psychology, who retired in April 2011 after 41 years of service.

Robert Neely, of Denton, Texas, associate provost and associate vice president of research, who retired January 2011 after 25 years of service.

Elizabeth Pudloski, of Ann Arbor, assistant professor of fine arts, who retired May 31 after nearly four years of service.

Staff members retiring from Eastern Michigan are:

Judy Church, of Canton, senior secretary in risk management and compensation, who retired June 1 after 22 years of service.

Greg Nelson, of Ann Arbor, accountant II in financial services, who retired April 2011 after 14 years of service.
