Fans gear up for battle as EMU takes on Akron Oct. 1 and celebrates Band Day, Faculty/Staff Appreciation Day

YPSILANTI: The Eagles football team takes on the Akron Zips, Saturday, Oct. 1, at Rynearson Stadium and it promises to be an exciting afternoon with Band Day, and Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day.

Faculty and staff can show their EMU ID at the EMU ticket office to receive up to two complimentary tickets to the game. Then watch QB Alex Gillett and the Eagles battle the Akron Zips at 1 p.m. The Eagles are undefeated at home this season. Saturday's game vs. Akron is a Green Out game. We are encouraging all fans to wear green.

More reasons to attend:

* Be among the first 100 fans to enter the stadium gates to receive an EMU foam finger.

* Come for the game, stay for the bands. Enjoy "Band Day," where 650 students in eight local high school bands will compete for your enjoyment.

* EMU students get in free with valid EMU ID.

* Parking is free for all, and is close to the stadium.

EMU has three ticket offices. The Quirk office is open noon to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday; The Student Center office is open 1-9 p.m. Monday through Friday; and The Convocation Center office is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
