Ypsilanti - Keeping in touch with Eastern Michigan University just got easier for Android users.

Droid users can easily find out what's happening at EMU with the first official EMU App.

The free app provides mobile access to the latest news, events, videos, sports scores and other university information to more than 140,000 alumni and 25,000 current students, faculty and staff and athletic fans.

Key features include the latest

  • university news, events and activities
  • admissions checklist for prospective students
  • athletics scores, schedules, news and updates
  • interactive campus map to find buildings
  • Twitter updates and links
  • new videos and photos
  • fight song
  • polls
  • references and links
  • weather forecast

EMU developed the app with Straxis Technology, a full-service technology company based in Tulsa, OK. (straxis.com). In 2010, EMU launched its first mobile device application for use with the Apple iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.

The Droid app is available at the Android Market (market.android.com).
