YPSILANTI: High school and transfer students will have a chance to explore Eastern Michigan University Saturday, Oct. 15, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the EMU Student Center, 900 Oakwood St., in Ypsilanti. The event is free.
The Explore Eastern program provides students with an opportunity to meet with representatives from various academic programs, housing, dining, career services, financial aid, scholarships and other areas.
Tours, led by a current EMU student, are at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. You can ask questions and see a classroom building; the Bruce T. Halle Library; the Old-Robb Recreation and Intramural Building; and a residence hall room.
All students attending Explore Eastern will be able to apply for admission at no charge - a $30 saving.
High school seniors can get a priority admissions decision, so bring an official high school transcript in a sealed envelope, and official ACT or SAT scores. Transfer students who apply at the Explore Eastern event will have the normal application fee waived.
Family members are welcome. Parking for Explore Eastern is free in the Student Center lot.
