YPSILANTI - EMU's Explore Eastern program is a great way for high school students and transfer students to learn about EMU and how an EMU education can launch the path to their future. The open house is scheduled for Saturday, October 13, 2012.
The day begins at 10 a.m. in EMU's Student Center and runs until 1 p.m. During the open house, EMU faculty will be available to talk with prospective students about specific majors and academic programs. Deans from each of the five colleges will give a brief presentation about the programs available in their colleges. And, EMU leaders from housing, dining, career services, leadership and involvement, financial aid, scholarships and others will also be on hand to answer questions.
Tours of campus, led by a current EMU student, will be offered at 9 a.m., 11:25 a.m. and 12:55 p.m. Students will have the opportunity to tour a classroom building, the Bruce T. Halle Library, the Rec/IM building and a residence hall room. All students attending Explore Eastern will be able to apply for admission free of charge - a $35 savings.
The whole family is welcome to attend Explore Eastern. Parking is free and attendees are encouraged to park in the Student Center parking lot (off Oakwood).
Participants and their guests are also invited to attend the football game at Rynearson Stadium Saturday, October 13 as the EMU Eagles play Toledo. The game begins at 1 p.m. As an added bonus - any student registered for Explore Eastern will get a free "I AM TRUEMU" T-shirt. A single game ticket is free for each guest and includes a special $3 "TOGETHER" voucher good for one hot dog and one pop. To attend the game, the student will need to complete an online registration form and provide the number of guests. The T-shirt is only available at the stadium.
