YPSILANTI - High school and prospective transfer students can now experience what an Eastern Michigan University education offers by attending the Explore Eastern Open House, Saturday, Nov.23, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the EMU Student Center.
The Explore Eastern program includes:
EMU faculty available to discuss specific majors and academic programs.
Campus tours, led by current Eastern Michigan students, will be offered at 9 a.m., 11:25 a.m. and 12:55 p.m. Guides will answer questions, speak about the numerous activities on campus, and lead tours of a classroom building, the Bruce T. Halle Library, The Olds-Robb Recreation and Intramural Building, and a residence hall room. All attendees are welcome to bring family members and friends.
Several special events are also scheduled including a Preparing for College Writing workshop. The workshop provides tips for parents and students who want to learn more about college writing. Sessions are at 11:25 a.m. and 12 p.m. in room 350, Student Center.
For students graduating from high school in 2014 and are already admitted to EMU, the Admissions staff will have information about EMU’s Presidential Scholarship competition.
Parking for Explore Eastern is free in the Student Center parking lot off Oakwood Dr. The Student Center is located at 900 Oakwood St., Ypsilanti, 48197.
