Eastern Michigan University professor receives award for distinguished work with business association

YPSILANTI - Jean Bush Bacelis, a professor at Eastern Michigan University, has been honored for her excellent work with the Association for Business Communication. She was presented with the award at the 78th annual international conference for the association held in New Orleans this year.

Bush-Bacelis received the Bernadine P. Branchaw Spirit award which is given to members of the Association for Business Communication who demonstrate a “spirit of friendliness and welcome and whose activities in support of that spirit contribute substantially to creating an atmosphere of welcome and appreciation.” said Jim Dubinsky, Executive Director of Association for Business Communication.

The Association for Business Communication is an international organization that focuses on advancing business communication in a professional setting. The association also promotes excellence in teaching and prepares students to communicate in their future careers.

Dr. Bush Bacelis is a director on the association’s board of directors, has co-chaired the group’s International Issues Committee, and serves on the Teaching Committee, all as part of her membership. Bacelis has a Ph.D. from Wayne State University and received her undergraduate degree from Albion College. She currently teaches undergraduate and graduate organizational behavior and communication courses at EMU.
