NORTHVILLE – "Encore!" a group of talented vocalists and actors from Eastern Michigan University, will perform at a special dinner theater event April 17 to support children with autism.

The second annual “Cabaret for a Cause” will include a five-course family style meal, silent auction and cabaret-style show at Genitti’s Hole-in-the-Wall Dinner Theater on Thursday, April 17, 2014. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., dinner served at 6:30 p.m.

The event supports Sprouts, Northville Public Schools’ Autism K-5 program, which is housed at Thornton Creek Elementary School.

For the second consecutive year, Ryan Lewis, musical director in the department of Communication, Media and Theatre Arts, is creating a musical, cabaret-style show specifically for Encore! to perform at this special event, with choreography by EMU professor and Broadway veteran Phil Simmons.

"EMU and EMU's “Encore!” are honored to be a part of this event to raise money and awareness for autism,” said Pam Cardell, assistant managing director for EMU Theatre. “What a great opportunity, to share what we love to do as performers and help such a worthy cause at the same time."

Call Genitti’s to reserve your seats at 248-349-0522. Tickets for dinner and the show are $35.  A cash bar will be available. Genitti's is located at 108 E. Main Street in Northville, 48167. There is free parking.
