Eastern Michigan University hosts Michigan's largest teacher job fair
YPSILANTI — Eastern Michigan University will host the largest teacher job fair in Michigan, Wednesday, April 16, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at EMU’s Convocation Center.
Approximately 525 recruiters are scheduled from 226 school districts to meet with graduating seniors and alumni hoping to secure employment. Recruiters are coming from as far away as Korea and as close as Michigan, said Barbara Jones, assistant director of career services. Jones anticipates at least 1,500 students will attend. Recruiters will have the option to conduct brief, semi-private interviews on location.
For those who did not pre-register by March 31, the cost is $20 at the door. The event is open to the public.
School representatives from 19 states and even international schools from Korea will be recruiting, Jones said. Arizona is sending representatives from approximately 32 schools due to their significant growth. Representatives from 56 Michigan schools will be available.
The complete list of participating schools can be reviewed at www.career.emich.edu/new/tif/. For more information, call 487-0400.
